Biostimulatory Fillers
Unlike HA fillers, which are placed to substitute depleted collagen and fat —biostimulatory fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra work differently. These fillers give an immediate, short-term plumping but their primary purpose is to encourage the growth of your OWN collagen for longer-lasting fullness and lift.
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable man-made polymer, the similar to absorbable stitches.
Radiesse contains the mineral calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa); similar to your bones and teeth.
Hyperdilute Radiesse/Sculptra are used in the body (neck, decollage, knees, arms and bootie) to improve skin collagen and elastin production. Multiple treatments (2-3) may be required initially and then yearly thereafter.
