pdo Absorbable Threads
PDO threads are synthetic absorbable surgical sutures that are composed of polydioxanone (PDO) and used in surgical procedures everyday. The body absorbs the PDO sutures within four to six months; however the skin begins to repair itself by producing new collagen and elastin.
Using the smooth or twist sutures, a mesh technique is created by inserting threads just under the skin in a vertically and horizontally manner. This technique encourages collagen neogensis and tightening of the skin which results in a subtle and natural improvement in fine lines, texture and smoothness.
These sutures can be used in the marionette area, nasolabial folds, smile lines, crow's feet, "11" and neck areas.
